Clear Saved MESA/Email Password Procedures:

 

Windows:

 

Oracle Calendar Desktop Client:

  1. Close Oracle Calendar.
  2. Click on the Start Button.
  3. Select Search.
  4. Select All Files and Folders.
  5. Click on More advanced options.
  6. Make sure Search Hidden Files and Folders is checked.
  7. Click on More advanced options again.
  8. Type (minus the quotes) “xtmlocal*” into the All or part of the file name box.
  9. Click the Search button.
  10. Delete both the files that appear.
  11. Log back into Oracle Calendar.
  12. Answer Yes when asked if you would like to have an Offline Agenda.  The program will ask you this at every start up until you agree.

 

Internet Explorer 6 Saved Passwords:

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. Make sure you are on the Content tab.
  4. Click on Clear Passwords.  Please note this will delete all stored passwords.  There is no way to pick which passwords are deleted.
  5. Click OK.

 

Internet Explorer 7 Saved Passwords:

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. Make sure you are on the General tab.
  4. Click on the Delete button under Browsing History.
  5. Click on the Delete passwords… button.  Please note this will delete all stored passwords.  There is no way to pick which passwords are deleted.
  6. Click Yes. 
  7. Click Close.
  8. Click OK.

 

Firefox 3 Saved Passwords:

 

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Click on the Saved Passwords button.
  5. Select an entry ending in gmu.edu.
  6. Click the Remove button.
  7. Repeat as necessary.
  8. Click Close.
  9. Click OK.

 

Safari:

  1. Click on the Safari menu.

  2. Click on Preferences.
  3. Click on the Autofill button.
  4. Click on the Edit button next to the phrase Usernames and Passwords.
  5. Select an entry ending in gmu.edu.
  6. Click the Remove button.
  7. Repeat as necessary.
  8. Click Done.
  9. Close the Preferences window.

 

SeaMonkey:

  1. Click on the Tools menu.

  2. Click on Password Manager.
  3. Select Manage Stored Passwords.
  4. Make sure you are on the Passwords Saved tab.
  5. Select an entry ending in gmu.edu.
  6. Click the Remove button.
  7. Repeat as necessary.
  8. Click Close.

 

Google Chrome:

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Click on Minor Tweaks.
  4. Click on Show Saved Passwords.
  5. Select an entry ending in gmu.edu.
  6. Click the Remove button.
  7. Repeat as necessary.
  8. Click on the Close button.
  9. Click on the Close button again.

 

Netscape 6/7.2:

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Click on Password Manager.
  3. Select Manage Stored Passwords.
  4. Make sure you are on the Passwords Saved tab.
  5. Select an entry ending in gmu.edu.
  6. Click the Remove button.
  7. Repeat as necessary.
  8. Click Close.

 

Netscape 8:

  1. Click on the Tools menu.

  2. Click on Options.
  3. Click on Privacy.
  4. Select Passcard Manager.
  5. Select View Passcards.
  6. Select an entry ending in gmu.edu.
  7. Click the Remove button.
  8. Repeat as necessary.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Click OK.

 

Mozilla Thunderbird:

 

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Select the Privacy tab.
  4. Click on Edit Saved Passwords.
  5. Select an entry ending in gmu.edu.
  6. Click the Remove button.
  7. Repeat as necessary.
  8. Click Close.

 

 

Outlook Express:

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Click on Accounts.
  3. Select the Mail tab.
  4. Select your GMU email account.
  5. Click on the Properties button.
  6. Select the Servers tab.
  7. Uncheck Remember password.
  8. Click on the Settings button next to the phrase Outgoing Server.
  9. Make sure Use same settings as my incoming mail server is checked.
  10. Click Close.

 

Mozilla 1.7.13:

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Click on Password Manager.
  3. Select Manage Stored Passwords.
  4. Select an entry ending in gmu.edu.
  5. Click the Remove button.
  6. Repeat as necessary.
  7. Click Close.

 

Outlook 2002 and 2003

1.      Click on the Tools menu.

2.      Click on Email Accounts.

3.      Select View or change existing email accounts.

4.      Click on the Next button.

5.      Select your GMU email account.

6.      Click the Change button.

7.      Delete the information in the Password field.

8.      Uncheck Remember password.

9.      Click the More settings button.

10. Select the Outgoing Server tab.

11. Make sure Use same settings as receiving mail server is selected.

12. Click OK.

13. Click Next.

14. Click Finish.

 

Outlook 2007

  1. Click on the Tools menu.
  2. Click on Accounts Settings.
  3. Select your GMU email account.
  4. Click the Change button.
  5. Delete the information in the Password field.
  6. Uncheck the Remember password button.
  7. Click the More settings button.
  8. Select the Outgoing Server tab.
  9. Make sure Use same settings as receiving mail server is selected.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Click Finish.

 

Eudora 7

1.      Click on the Tools menu.

2.      Click on Options.

3.      On the left side of the window, select the Checking Mail icon.

4.      Uncheck Save Password.

5.      Click OK.

 

Eudora 5.1

1.      Click on the Tools menu.

2.      Click on Options.

3.      On the left side of the window, select the Checking Mail icon.

4.      Uncheck Save Password.

5.      Click OK.

 

Macintosh

 

Safari:

  1. Click on the Safari menu.
  2. Click on Preferences.
  3. Click on the Autofill button.

  4. Click on Show Saved Passwords.
  5. Select an entry ending in gmu.edu.
  6. Click the Remove button.
  7. Repeat as necessary.
  8. Click on the Close button.
  9. Click on the Close button again.


Outlook Express and Entourage

1.      Click on the Tools menu.

2.      Click on Accounts.

3.      Select you GMU email account.

4.      Click on the Edit button.

5.      Select the Account Settings tab.

6.      Uncheck Save password in my Mac OS keychain.

7.      Under Sending Mail click on Click here for advanced receiving options.

8.      Make sure Use same settings as receiving mail server is checked.

9.      Click OK.

 

OS X Mail

1.      Click on the Mail menu.

2.      Click on Preferences.

3.      Select your GMU email account.

4.      Select Account Information.

5.      Delete the information in the Password field.

6.      Under the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) section, click on Server Settings.

7.      Delete the information in the Password field.

8.      Click OK.

9.      Close the Preferences window.

10. Click Save.

 

Eudora 6.2

1.      Click on the Special menu.

2.      Click on Settings.

3.      On the left side of the window, select the Checking Mail icon.

4.      Uncheck Save Password.

5.      Click OK.

 

Eudora 5.2

1.      Click on the Special menu.

2.      Click on Settings.

3.      On the left side of the window, select the Checking Mail icon.

4.      Uncheck Save Password.

5.      Click OK.
