The IRC is the focal point
for faculty for instructional improvement and assistance in incorporating
technology into their teaching. The IRC serves as a teaching/learning
resource for faculty/staff; provides training and support to faculty
to use technology for improving student learning; and offers training
and support in the development and delivery of courses that extend instruction
beyond the campus. This includes non-technical based instructional issues,
multimedia learning and instructional development, and the use of the
course management system, WebCT. The IRC lab facility offers work stations
that include scanners, CD & DVD burners, video editing, Scantrons,
as well as walk-in support. The IRC also offers Arlington and Prince
William Campus support.

STAR consists of four multimedia
lab areas that feature both Macintosh and PC compatible computers with
an array of software. Highly skilled student mentors that comprise a
network of learning experiences are available for students interested
in developing technology skills. The different areas of STAR are listed
below.

TOPS offers free workshops
on supported software (e.g. Corporate Time Calendar, MEMO e-mail, Microsoft
Office Suite such as Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word).
