E-mail programs that do not support encryption

Many older e-mail programs do not support encryption.  If you are using one of these older e-mail programs, or If you do not see your specific e-mail program listed, you will need to upgrade it to a more recent version.  In some cases, this may require you to purchase the newer version.  If you do not want to purchase a newer version of your e-mail program, you can download a copy of one of the e-mail programs that Mason provides free-of-charge from this site (http://itusupport.gmu.edu/downloads/index.asp).

Please note:  Most programs will keep your settings and messages when you upgrade your e-mail program to a more recent version.  However, some messages may get lost.  We strongly encourage you to save important messages to your computer before you begin the upgrade process.  Call the Support Center for instructions on how to transfer your saved e-mails between clients.
