E-mail Encryption Instructions: Thunderbird 1.5 for Macintosh

1. Open Thunderbird Mail.
   
   
   
2. From the Tools menu select Account Settings.

3. From the menu on the left, click Server Settings.
   
   
   
   
   
   
4. Under the Security Settings heading, select SSL.
   
   
   
5. From the menu on the left, click Outgoing Server (SMTP).
   
   
   Please note: If you are accessing your e-mail through an Internet Service Provider (such as Earthlink, Cox, Verizon, etc.), your provider may supply their own outbound mail server (e.g., smtp.east.cox.net) and require that their outbound mail server be used. Please DO NOT change this setting.
   
   
   
   
   
6. Select your Mason account, and then click the Edit button.
   
   
   
   
   
   
7. Under the Security and Authentication heading, select TLS, if available.
   
   
   
   
8. Click on OK, then click OK again.
   
   
   
9. Exit and reopen before you use your e-mail.
