Step 2

Activate Your Computer ACCOUNTS (Including E-MAIL)
After being admitted to the university, you will receive information on how you can activate your computer accounts. You will be given a unique identifying number, which will be used to authenticate you to many of the systems and services at George Mason University. Please remember this number. Visit http://itusupport.gmu.edu/activate_account_instructions.asp to activate your accounts.

Encrypting your E-mail-Mason requires all e-mail programs be encrypted. https://mail.gmu.edu is already encrypted, so if you use this e-mail system you are protected. If you use another e-mail program, you will have to make sure that encryption is turned on. Instructions for how to do this are located at http://ssl.gmu.edu
