Daylight Saving Time
Daylight Saving Time begins earlier and lasts longer starting this year. So how is this going to affect your computer?

Dell Notebook Battery Recall
On August 15th, 2006, Dell announced a notebook battery recall for specific batteries affecting multiple Dell notebook models.

Vista
Microsoft recently released Vista, its newest operating system (OS). The ITU expects to complete testing by the Fall of this year. In the meantime, please do not purchase a computer with Vista. The ITU is not ready to support Vista.

Office 2007
The 2007 Microsoft Office system introduces a new file format. You will not be able to open Word 2007, PowerPoint 2007, or Excel 2007 files with the 2003 (or previous) versions of these programs unless you install a “compatibility pack.”

Gateway Notebook Battery Recall
On June 19, 2007, Gateway, Inc. announced that it has recalled approximately 35,000 notebook computer batteries because they have the potential to overheat and catch fire.
